MacuLearn is an E-course website about ocular nutrition. As doctors, we all want to do what’s best for our patients, but this takes time in our offices. Education is power and the more we and our staff know, the better care we can provide for ALL of our patient’s visual needs. This includes diseases like AMD or those with night vision problems, poor contrast sensitivity, increasing glare, and poor visual performance.
You may have one or more of your technicians take the course and become certified. The first Ocular Nutrition Certified course is “Macular Nutrition for Visual Function and AMD”. More courses will be added soon to enhance the learning content of this important area of research. For this first course, the staff can watch the 50-minute video and answer 13 questions correctly to get certified.
Our trained staff is an extension of us and they can help us be more efficient and provide the patient with the time needed to educate them about better nutrition and what products can help their vision. Not only does this program help our staff with personal professional growth, but now they can truly make a difference for our patients and our practices.
If we are going to take the time to educate our patients about their eye health and better ocular nutrition, we want them to be compliant. This can be achieved by either the doctor or the certified staff person educating the patient about their eye nutrition.
